Peanuts can be used like other legumes and grains to make a lactose-free milk-like beverage, peanut milk. Peanut plant tops are used for hay. A cemulcent, nutritive, pectoral, peptic. As an emollient, applied externally for rheumatism. Resveratrol in peanut has been found to have protective function against cancers, heart disease, degenerative nerve disease, Alzheimer's disease, reduce stroke risk, and viral/fungal infections. P-Coumaric acid in peanut has been thought to reduce the risk of stomach cancer by limiting formation of carcinogenic nitrosamines in the stomach.

Peanut oil is the oil from the seed, also called the nut, of the peanut plant. Peanut oil is used to make medicine. Peanut oil is used to lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease. It is also used to decrease appetite as an aid to weight loss. Some people use it to help prevent cancer. Peanut oil is sometimes applied directly to the skin for arthritis and joint pain, dry skin, eczema, scalp crusting and scaling without hair loss, and other skin disorders that cause scaling.
