Plant Description :

The basil plant is native to India and other tropical countries of Asia. The basil plant is also called as Sweet Basil and is different from the Holy Basil plant. These black and tear-shaped seeds should not to be confused with Chia seeds whose colour varies from black to grey and white.

Health benefits of basil (Ocimum basilicum) are below:

  1. Researchers reveal that basil contains varieties of essential oils that are rich in polyphenolic and phenolic compounds such as Flavonoids and Anthocyanins.
