Geranic acid is found in cardamom. Geranic acid is present in petitgrain, lemongrass and other essential oils Geranic acid belongs to the family of Monoterpenes. These are compounds contaning a chain of two isoprene units. Geranic acid, or 3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadienoic acid, is a pheromone used by some organisms. It is a double bond isomer of nerolic acid.
